Nina Dobrev and Zedd dating news: Selena Gomez relationship adds to complicated rumors

Is Nina Dobrev dating Zedd? Earlier this week, rumors that the two are seeing each other were sparked when the EDM DJ posted a picture of himself with "The Vampire Diaries" alum. The photo was captioned, "Thank you for teaching me your selfie tricks @ninadobrev. My eyes couldn't find the camera lens though."

Although it's not hard to imagine them dating as both of them are single as of this time, there might be a complication if the two actually started seeing each other. It just so happens that Dobrev is a good friend of Selena Gomez, who was rumored to be dating the DJ earlier this year.

A source told Hollywood Life that Dobrev and Zedd are nothing but friends right now.

"They are friends right now mostly because of different fears," said the insider. "Zedd thinks Nina is hot and would date her in a heartbeat. A few things are holding stuff back. He is scared to be in the tabloids again and she doesn't want to upset Selena."

Zedd and Gomez attended the Golden Globes earlier this year, and many thought that the singer-actress' relationship with the "Clarity" hitmaker means that her on-off relationship with Justin Bieber is done for good. The two have been seen together on other occasions, and Zedd even visited Gomez while she was filming in Atlanta. Back in March, they released a new song, "I Want You to Know," which made it to the top of the EDM charts.

Meanwhile, Dobrev has remained single since splitting with her "The Vampire Diaries" co-star Ian Somerhalder. Since then, the actress has been linked to Derek Hough and Orlando Bloom.

Right now, Gomez has gone back to making movies while Zedd has focused on promoting his new album, "True Colors." Dobrev has just left The CW series and is now eager to begin her career in movies.

In a recent interview with Billboard's Pop Shop Podcast, Zedd has lamented the fact that people seem to be more interested in his personal life than on his music.

"I don't think I've ever been in the press in my life for anything but my music, and I've appreciated that a lot," said the DJ. "I've never had any scandals and I've never done anything bad, and everyone only talked about my music… And then out of nowhere, suddenly people started talking about things that had nothing to do with my music. I was like, 'Wait — we've got a song. Why don't you talk about that song?' It took me a real long time to do this."

It may be hard to fathom how such pettiness plays into the government’s wider crackdown on FoRB and other fundamental human rights, or how on earth it could justify extending its repression to children, but ultimately it all comes down to fear.
