NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950 graphics card officially launched

Nvidia Corp's latest graphics card called GeForce GTX 950 has just been launched.

This graphics card, according to IGN, is expected to take on AMD's recently released Radeon R7 370, which costs about US$149. NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950 comes with a price tag of $159.99, according to The Tech Report. 

Prior to its official release, the first benchmarks of the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950 was leaked by Video Cardz.

In terms of the specs, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950 comes with 768 Compute Unified Device Architecture (CUDA) cores at a base clock of 1,024Mhz, along with 2 GB of graphics double data rate (GDDR5) memory on a 128-bit bus. On the other hand, AMD's Radeon R7 370 comes with 4 GB GDDR5 memory.

Other specs include a 90W thermal design and a PNY card with a single fan cooling system. In addition, the newly launched NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950 graphics card comes with three Display Ports, along with an HDMI 2.0 and single DVI connector, according to WCCF Tech.

According to Game Spot, gamers on a budget who want to play multiplayer online video games such as the popular "League of Legends" or "Dota 2" can purchase the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950 for a very reasonable price.

Other devices by Nvidia is the GTX 980 Ti graphics card, which was released earlier this year with a whopping US$650 price tag. Meanwhile, AMD also released another graphics card called the R7 360 during this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2015 event. The R7 360 graphics card costs about only US$109 and was designed for 1,080p, like the RS 370 model.

Other news include Nvidia's plan to launch a beta of Share sometime next month, according to a recent report by Polygon. Share comes with new features for the GeForce Experience, providing gamers and users with four different modes such as record, instant replay, broadcast, and stream.
