After the official Twitter account for "Hotline Miami" posted a puzzling phone number early this month, a new post on Thursday confirmed that the upcoming top-down action video game will be released on March 10.

IGN reported that the standard edition as well as the Digital Special Edition, which contains the Remix EP of the final installment of the "Hotline Miami" series, are now available for pre-order at a discounted price. The site also added that those who own a "PayDay 2" game and are planning to buy "Hotline Miami 2" will get a Jacket character pack and exclusive masks for free.

Players can start pre-ordering the game on Steam, Humble, and GOG

In the game's pre-order page on Steam, "Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number" is described as "the brutal conclusion to the Hotline Miami saga, set against a backdrop of escalating violence and retribution over spilled blood in the original game. Follow the paths of several distinct factions each with their own questionable methods and uncertain motivations as unforeseen consequences intersect and reality once again slips back into a brilliant haze of neon and bloodshed."

Compared to its predecessor that only has two playable characters, the new installment now includes thirteen characters that players can use in the game. Some of the characters that were confirmed by the game developer are the original protagonist named Jacket, his fictionalized version called The Pig Butcher, a group of ruthless vigilantes called The Fans who idolize Jacket as a hero, a police detective called Manny Pardo, a gigantic man who dons several snake masks called Jake, a Russian mobster with no masks called The Henchman, an investigative journalist name Evan who goes by the name "The Writer," as well as unknown Soldier.

"Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number" will be released in multiple platforms, including PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, PC, and Mac.
