Is Zayn Malik flirting with Kylie Jenner on social media?

Rumors sparked that the former One Direction member has his eye on Jenner when he favorited a picture of her on Twitter early Thursday, Aug. 6. In the photo posted on July 31, the "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" star is in a black mesh dress with her left side facing the camera. Malik also followed the 18-year-old model's older sister, Khloe Kardashian, on Twitter on the same day.

Some fans were quick to react and were not happy with the former boy band member's actions, with one tweeting, "if Zayn Malik and Kylie Jenner have a thing I'll cry my eyes out."

Some questioned Malik's social media activities, saying that marking Jenner's picture as a favorite was a sign of clear disrespect to his ex, Perrie Edwards. Since joining the micro blogging site, Malik has favorited only 10 tweets — including a photo of him with Edwards — making his recent actions seem odd to his fans.

"We don't 100% [know] what happened between them, but clearly Perrie is hurt and he has to respect that," wrote another Twitter user on Jenner's post.

Four months after splitting with One Direction to pursue a solo career, it was reported earlier this week that Malik called off his engagement to Edwards. According to People, he called it off two weeks ago. The Daily Mail says that he ended their engagement via text message and since then, there has been no communication between the two. The couple were engaged in August of 2013.

The magazine reports that although Edwards is putting on a brave face, she is "devastated" over the split. It has been reported that Edwards has removed all traces of her ex on all her social media accounts. Just three weeks ago, she posted a picture of her and Malik on Instagram, captioned, "Love ma man." The photo and all others featuring Malik have since been removed from her account.
