One Million Moms Slams New Show 'Impastor' for Promoting 'Lies About Christianity'

More and more anti-Christian shows seem to invade television nowadays, and this time, the Christian watchdog group One Million Moms has set its sights on the sitcom called "Impastor."

"TV Land continues to air the sacrilegious program 'Impastor' on Wednesday evenings," the group writes on its website. "It revolves around Buddy Dobbs, a gambling, pot-smoking slacker, on the run from a loan shark, who steals a man's identity and ends up posing as the new gay pastor in a small, tightknit town."

The show's previews are already a cause for concern because there are several scenes that feature sex, theft, murder, drug use, and excessive foul language.

What's worse, according to One Million Moms, is that the show depicts pastors in a negative light. "The entire program will also be based on lies about Christianity. TV Land has crossed the line by belittling the Christian faith with foul jokes," the group says.

Because of this, the group hopes to send a "loud and clear message" to advertisers against patronising the show. One Million Moms says "Impastor" is insulting and completely unacceptable for Christians, and networks like TV Land give little regard to people of faith by continuing to mock them. "'Impastor'" is another attempt to distort the truth about Christianity," it says.

Previously, One Million Moms campaigned against shows like "The Muppets" and "Angel From Hell." These two have since then been removed from TV line-ups.

The group did not like "The Muppets" because even though the show's target market is children, it is filled with adult content. The mature version of "The Muppets" covered a range of topics including sex and drugs. One of its lead characters, Miss Piggy, came out as a pro-choice feminist who tackles interspecies relationships and promiscuity.

As for "Angel From Hell," One Million Moms slammed the show for its blasphemous content. The angel featured on the show is a foul-mouthed liquor addict who is not afraid to use violence every once in a while.
