Fans of "One Punch Man" have been waiting for two years to see the continuation of Saitama's story. The hit anime series has become so popular all over the world that the commissioning of a second season has long been a given. At long last, it was finally confirmed that "One Punch Man" season 2 is underway, with a recent comic strip confirming the ongoing development of the series.

While it was already announced earlier this year that the second season had been greenlit, only a little information was made public regarding the animation process, as well as the possible new plotline of "One Punch Man."

Fortunately for the fans. a Twitter user known as Ken Xyro has shared a promotional photo for season 2. Ken Xyro posted a still of Saitama, which is expected to be featured in one of the future episodes of season 2. In spite of this, the Twitter user did not indicate a release date for the second season.

Last September 2017, the season 1 cast members Makoto Furukawa, Kaito Ishikawa, Yuki Kaji, Aoi Yūki, and Saori Hayami joined the performers JAM Project and Hiroko Moriguchi at the previous Fall Festival event in Japan for a special "One Punch Man" gathering. Much to the surprise of everyone, the group then made the confirmation that "One Punch Man" is definitely happening.

As reported by Korea Portal, the recent Anime Japan event also shared a few details about "One Punch Man" season 2. While there was no announcement made regarding the premiere date, it was confirmed that Garou will be the upcoming villain in the second season.

Known as a follower of Bang, Garou will be involved in a conflict with Saitama as the former has a twisted view of Earth's heroes. The character was only briefly mentioned in the tenth episode of season 1. This time around, Garou will make his presence felt as he plots to get rid of all the heroes, including Saitama.

More details on "One Punch Man" season 2 are expected to be announced in the coming months. For one, the upcoming anime event in Japan called "One Punch Man Maji Gakuensai" is rumored to highlight the first official trailer for the second season. The event will take place on August 12.
