The women of Litchfield Penitentiary invades Netflix once again as "Orange is the New Black" (OITNB) returns for its fifth season this Friday, June 9, at 12 midnight. Advance reviews are slowly trickling online and most contain positive reactions.

Some reviews described "Orange is the New Black" season 5 as its most gripping and most binge-worthy season yet. One thing distinctive about the new offering is that the whole story's timeline occurs within three days only but told in 13 episodes.

"It's so compressed. It's just these three days, it's like racking up the intensity to 11," "OITNB" actress Natasha Lyonne, who plays Nicky Nichols, told AM New York. Lyonne also said filming for "OINTB" season 5 took six months but the whole thing was an intense "wild ride" as the stories got deeper and deeper.

The show will pick up after Poussey's (Samira Wiley) death and there's a brewing riot in the first episode. A pregnant and confused inmate, Dayanara (Dascha Polanco), has her hand on the gun pointed at Officer Humphrey (Michael Torpey).

The gun goes off and a rampage follows. According to CNet, this new season of "Orange is the New Black" depicts a different Litchfield, as if to signal that the endgame for many of these women is coming.

On the other hand, new inmates will be introduced once again. Cliffhangers will also figure in each of the episodes for "Orange is the New Black" season 5. Check out the teaser in the video below.

Meanwhile, Netflix cancelled the show's London premiere set for Tuesday, May 30, in the wake of the terrorist attack in Manchester. The streaming site released an official statement confirming it will forego the event that was supposed to take place at the Curzon Mayfair Cinema, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

Catch the release of "Orange is the New Black" season 5 on Netflix beginning Friday, June 9. All 13 episodes will be rolled out at midnight.

More recently, I’ve enjoyed Christian movies Unsung Hero and Jesus Revolution on limited release in the UK, but it’s rare for such films to make the multiplex chains.
