The funeral of late actor Paul Walker is set to take place this weekend, although the official date is not clear.

The funeral will be a private event for family and by invitation only.

The cast and crew of The Fast and The Furious will reportedly attend the private funeral where loved ones will finally put him to rest.

Walker's body was released to Forest Lawn Mortuaries by the coroner's office on Dec. 9.

On Sunday, Dec. 8, thousands of fans gathered at the makeshift memorial at the crash site where Walker perished.

A source close to the family told E!Online that the "funeral details are still being worked out." Previous reports stated that Fast and Furious co-star Tyrese Gibson was helping the family out with the funeral arrangements, but Gibson denied these reports in a Twitter statement. He tweeted: "Respectfully I post this.... People are saying I am involved in the planning of Paul's funeral this is false information I am not involved."

The official autopsy reports on the deaths of Paul Walker and Roger Rodas have been revealed last week, citing that the Walker died of traumatic and thermal injuries, while Rodas died of multiple traumatic injuries.

Walker was a passenger in the red Porsche Carrera GT with driver Rodas on Nov. 30 when the car went out of control and crashed into a tree and a pole before bursting into flames.

Paul Walker's Twitter and Facebook pages have announced an upcoming global tribute to the actor. A message on Twitter reads: "THANK YOU to everyone for supporting Paul. Stay tuned for updates, including our plan for a global tribute."

A Facebook message also states: "We've seen the most incredible outpouring of support fromPaul Walker fans over the past week. To those who have attended the many tributes worldwide, posted heartfelt messages online, and supported his charity Reach Out Worldwide -- we'd just like to say THANK YOU. Your gestures of love have meant so much. We promise to keep you updated via Paul's Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, including on our plans for a global tribute. - Team PW"
