Tim Tebow news: Denver Broncos petition asks them to bring the player back

Over 10,000 people have now signed a change.org online petition seeking to bring Christian athlete Tim Tebow back to the NFL.

Even though it won't happen this season, Will Garner, the person behind the campaign, is still glad that a lot of people continue believe in Tebow's athletic abilities and hopes that some teams will consider including him in their roster.

"Even if the Broncos don't pick him up, there really are teams that should consider picking him up, as he is better than what many teams have. He deseves a [legitimate] shot!" says Garner.

Tebow's football career began when he played for the University of Florida Gators back in 2006. He received the Heisman Trophy award in 2007, then joined the Denver Broncos in 2010. He transferred to the New York Jets in 2012 before being selected by the New England Patriots in 2013.

He moved to the Philadelphia Eagles in 2015 but was passed over for an open quarterback position. It was very difficult for Tebow to be removed from the game he loved, but he managed to handle his dismissal with grace and fortitude.

"Thanks @Eagles and Coach Kelly for giving me the opportunity to play the game I love! Romans 8:28 #Blessed," Tebow tweeted back in September.

Meanwhile, Tebow remains one of the most popular footballers in America even though several years have passed since he last played in a regular season NFL game

The Public Policy Polling survey revealed that the 28-year-old athlete ranked as the fifth most favourite NFL quarterback, coming after Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Aaron Rodgers, and Cam Newton.

The survey asked 410 NFL fans, "Given the choices of Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Eli Manning, Peyton Manning, Cam Newton, Aaron Rodgers, Ben Roethlisberger, Tim Tebow, and Russell Wilson, who is your favorite NFL quarterback?"

Aside from football, Tebow is known for his philanthropic works through the Tim Tebow Foundation. He also hosts prom night events for special needs children, builds children's playrooms in hospitals, and helps provide financial support to families that want to adopt, among many other charitable projects.
