
The Phoenix Suns will look to bounce back from a loss in their most recent preseason outing when they visit the Denver Nuggets at the Pepsi Center today, Friday.
After winning their first two preseason games against the Sacramento Kings (102–98) and the Utah Jazz (101–85), Phoenix experienced a tough 135–129 overtime loss to the Houston Rockets last Tuesday.
Reserve forward T.J. Warren led the Suns with 21 points, also having five rebounds and two steals.
Another bright spot off the bench for the Suns in the loss was forward Mirza Teletović, who had a double-double 19 points with 12 rebounds plus one assist, two steals, and one block.
Guard Devin Booker also helped adding 20 points, three rebounds, and three assists in a losing effort.
Together with their game against the Nuggets, the Suns still have three games left in their preseason schedule before opening their regular season campaign at home against the Dallas Mavericks on Oct. 28.
If Phoenix is coming off a defeat, the Nuggets are currently on a three-game winning streak and are looking to make it four games today.
The Nuggets dropped their preseason opener to the Los Angeles Clippers (103–96) but since then have won over the Dallas Mavericks (96–86), Chicago Bulls (112–94), and the defending champions Golden State Warriors (114–103).
In their huge win over the Warriors, forward Kenneth Faried led Denver with a double-double 22 points and 12 rebounds, plus one assist and two blocks.
Rookie point guard Emmanuel Mudiay added 16 points, two rebounds, nine assists, and one steal. Veteran playmaker and former All-Star Jameer Nelson also had 16 points to go along with four assists. Meanwhile, Nuggets forwards Danilo Gallinari and Wilson Chandler added 14 and 13 points, respectively.
The Nuggets will not just have home court advantage during the game but also the momentum because of their wins.
