"Pitch Perfect" instantly became a worldwide sensation showcasing acapella pipes in action, giving rise to "Pitch Perfect 2" after a short amount of time. The same can't be said, however, for the third installment, "Pitch Perfect 3," as it seems like there isn't much harmony anymore.

Producer, director, and star of the movie series Elizabeth Banks had to give up the director's chair for a lot of reasons. Banks mentioned that it gets in the way of her family life, considering she has two more films to direct, and she will be starring as Rita Repulsa in the upcoming reboot for "Power Rangers," The Wrap reports.

The said drawback caused production to be pushed back, until "Step Up All In" filmmaker Trish Sie stepped in as the new director for the third movie. Everything looked ironed-out, but then, a scuffle between two actresses caused yet another disharmony.

In a report by iTech Post, it seems as if Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson may be in a heated argument due to schedule concerns. Kendrick would like to push production for the acapella film a few days back so that she can promote another movie she was starring in. Wilson, however, also has some prior commitments that would be put in jeopardy if that happens, so she wanted to keep the production dates as is. The two stars didn't see eye to eye on the matter, causing Kendrick to think of leaving all in all.

Should the worst case scenario happen, replacements have been lined up to fill her role. According to Movie News Guide, Vanessa Hudgens or Lea Michelle are prospective candidates to replace Kendrick should she decide to leave. Nothing is set in stone yet, but the disarray surely would catch fans off guard with the possible changes.

"Pitch Perfect 3" is expected to hit the theaters on Dec. 22, 2017.
