PlayStation VR news: 100 game titles coming soon

The dawn of virtual reality games continues to try and climb to make a niche for itself but one concern made by avid gamers is the games that would be made available.

Sony has been known to be in the gaming business to figure out that shortcoming but according to Sony CEO and president Kazuo Hirai, all that will be addressed soon.

During a recent interview at CES 2016, Hirai bares via BBC that 200 developers are currently working on over 100 game titles to back up Sony's celebrated PlayStation VR headset.

Sony has a lot of things going for them in this aspect, one of which is that they offer an alternative and possibly cheaper way of enjoying virtual reality games. And on that note, there are some who believe that the highly touted Sony PlayStation VR headset could be a reasonably priced peripheral as well.

There are, of course, some who still remain reserved on how virtual reality can impact this time around. It didn't really make waves when it came out in the 90s.

This time, however, most tech companies are dipping their hands and placing their cards on the table. With high resolution graphics and game play still the leading indicators which avid gamers are looking for, Sony hopes that they can establish a new niche on their end.

We have seen VR devices out in the open, each with their own line of specialty. Before the Sony PlayStation VR, the Oculus Rift was the one in the limelight.

There were other VR gears that also made their debut in the market such as the Samsung Gear VR and the HTC Vive, so it may be an interesting 2016 ahead, particularly for companies who want to see if virtual reality can really take off on the right foot this time around and provide gamers with something different and, of course, better.
