"Pokémon GO" users have been looking left and right for a PokeVision alternative ever since it was shut down.

PokeVision became the go-to app of "Pokémon GO" users because the original Pokémon locator for "Pokémon GO" was deemed unsuccessful. PokeVision used to allow its users to effectively locate specific Pokémon in specific areas.

"Pokémon GO" was intended to keep the location of Pokémon hidden from its users to give off a more authentic gameplay that is similar to that of the original "Pokémon" game series developed by Nintendo. Since PokeVision enables its users to completely bypass "Pokémon GO's" Pokémon hunting system, the use of PokeVision was considered a cheat that "Pokémon GO" creators, Nintendo and Niantic, frowned upon.

The use of PokeVision significantly affects "Pokémon GO's" gameplay, making its users have a huge advantage when it comes to earning Pokémon candy for evolving Pokémon, which is why Niantic conducted a cleanup drive, banning PokeVision to access its live servers, leading to the third party app's demise.

Though PokeVision no longer operates, many apps that offer the same function to "Pokémon GO" users are still out there.

One of the most used alternatives for PokeVision for Android and iOS is the FastPokemap. FastPokemap provides its users with a map that contains both the location and duration of a Pokémon in a set radius.

Another is Poke Radar, it also provides its users with a map, the difference is, it uses the input of other "Pokémon GO" players. Poke Radar uses a crowdfunding system to locate nearby Pokémon sightings. It also has the feature to search for a specific Pokémon.

PokeVS is another favorite because among the apps available today, it is the one that is most similar to PokeVision. PokeVS lets its users input a specific address to pinpoint Pokémon in the area.

Lastly is Pokefast. What fans find great about Pokefast is that it is deemed to be the fastest "Pokémon GO" map scanner today. Unfortunately, it is only available for Android users.
