While some players were lucky enough in the past to hatch a Hitmonlee or a Hitmonchan from a 10km egg, this is no longer possible now as these Pokémon characters will not be appearing from eggs anymore.

This is due to the release of Generation 2 Pokémon and the addition of Hitmontop to the roster, according to Gamer Network. These can still be captured in the wild, but if a player does not want to just rely on the possibility of finding these in the wild to add Hitmonlee, Hitmonchan, or Hitmontop to the Pokédex, the best option is to simply evolve Tyrogue.

Unfortunately, unlike with Eevee's evolution, in which a player can simply rename the Pokémon in order to get the desired evolution result, there is no way a player can control what Tyrogue will evolve into, whether it is Hitmonlee, Hitmonchan, or Hitmontop.

However, there is a way for a player to predict Tyrogue's evolution path. According to VG 24/7, the said Pokémon will evolve into the Bruce Lee–inspired Hitmonlee if the highest of its stats is Attack. If its highest stat is Defence, Tyrogue will evolve into the Jackie Chan–inspired Hitmonchan. The most coveted evolution of them all, however, is Hitmontop. The new Generation 2 Pokémon spins on its spiky head and smashes enemies with powerful kicks. This evolution can be achieved when Tyrogue's highest stat is its Stamina/HP.

To find out which of Tyrogue's stats is the highest before evolving, a player must use the in-game appraisal tool, wherein the professor will reveal which of a particular Pokémon's stats is the most impressive. The player must also collect 25 candy to be able to evolve Tyrogue. One way to farm the candy faster is to set the Pokémon as the Buddy Pokémon, and the player must walk Tyrogue in order to earn a candy after every 5km.
