Niantic's augmented reality mobile video game "Pokémon Go" has somewhat lost its momentum as fewer and fewer players are now interested in playing the game.

Despite the declining player base compared to the first few months after the game's release, "Pokémon Go" still has thousands of active players that are continually enjoying the features that the game is offering. The game's developer is, of course, aware of this and is still continuing to support the game with constant updates.

According to the latest reports regarding the revolutionary mobile video game, the game's developer is apparently now preparing to release 100 brand new Pokémon creatures on top of the 151 already available in the game. The upcoming addition of the new Pokémon will definitely be a welcomedupdate to existing players as a majority of them have probably already captured all of the already available creatures by this time.

While Niantic has not yet officially announced the brand new Pokémon, some eagle-eyed players had actually spotted the new creatures within the code of the latest update that was released by the company. The 100 new Pokémon that were spotted is made up of Generation 2 creatures that were featured in games released after the original title in the franchise.

The update that the company launched was released for the iOS and Android mobile operating systems just this week. The company revealed a lot of details regarding the update, which included an expanded "Nearby feature," but Niantic did not say anything about the new Pokémon that they had included in the update.

Seeing as the new creatures are already embedded in the game's code, it is safe to assume that it may just be a matter of time until they are unlocked and available to capture. It also remains to be seen if the addition of the Generation 2 Pokémon would be enough to entice players to revisit the game once again.
