'Power of Unity' to be Unleashed at Hillsong London Conference

|PIC1|The annual Hillsong Conference in Europe will be held in London next year, taking place 10-12 October, 2007.

"The heartbeat of this conference will never change. It exists to champion the cause of the local church - your church. As we unite in celebration and cause, the power of this unity will be unleashed," the Hillsong Team wrote in the conference website.

Last year, Christians and churches of all denominations were called to action at Sydney's Acer Arena in Australia, where the Hillsong Conference celebrated 20 years of "championing the cause of the local church".

Delegates from 71 nations, representing 21 denominations from around Australia and all over the world attended the five-day conference.

The conference featured renowned keynote speakers and artists including Rick Warren, Delirious?, Israel Houghton, Louie Giglio, and more.

Warren challenged the delegates to discover the 'higher purpose' of life.

"It's not about you," he said, in the words of his best-selling book "Purpose Driven Life" which has sold over 30 million hard copies worldwide.

"You cannot grow as a Christian without the Church. You need the Church. To say you love Jesus and not the Church is an insult to God. If you don't like local church, you won't like heaven," he said.

From humble beginnings of just 150 delegates at the first Hillsong, the local church conference has grown to become the largest annual conference in Australia.

"The vision and heartbeat has never changed. The Conference exists to 'champion the cause of the local church' and make God's name known around the earth," said Hillsong's founder and Senior Pastor, Brian Houston.
