"Prison Break" is expected to come back early next year. Though there is no specific date yet, the creative team of the drama has assured its fans that the first episode of season 5 will air before April.

The upcoming season is already in the post-production stage and further strengthens the previous rumor, that Dominic Purcell's stunt double posted earlier, that the show will go on air in March. The people behind the show posted a tweet that a question regarding the season's premiere date. In the post the writers said, "There are factors that mean we don't have a firm date yet. I can promise that ep 1 will have aired before April."

A trailer has revealed many spoilers for "Prison Break" season 5. The upcoming installment will continue on where the series left off several years ago. Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller), who was thought to be dead, is staying in a prison in Yemen called "Ogygia." The show will focus on breaking Michael out of there and bring him back to his wife Sara Tancredi (Sarah Wayne Callies) and his son. The issue of terrorism is also predicted to be included in the plot since Michael himself was branded as one at one point.

Fans are also wondering about what will happen to Michael's relationship with Sara, who gave birth to his son right after he was presumed dead. Miller hinted during the San Diego Comic-Con 2016 that Michael will be doing everything he can to take back Sara, though it will not be easy. His brother Lincoln (Purcell) will even have a hard time to convince himself that Michael is a changed man.

"The question is, once he gets there will she even recognize him? Is he still the man she fell in love with? Because he has done some dark things and walked some shady roads, so my question is, and it was interesting to play, does Michael deserve that happy ending?" Miller said to TVLine.

"Prison Break" season 5 is expected to premiere by March 2017 on Fox.
