Pro-life film ‘Bella’ premieres in UK

The multi-award-winning movie about a pregnant woman facing the difficult choice of whether to have an abortion or keep her baby is showing in selected cinemas across the UK.

The film, made in 2006, stars Tammy Blanchard as Nina, a pregnant single woman who opens up about her woes to chef Jose, played by Eduardo Verástegui, and in the process, comes to see her initially unwanted pregnancy in a new light.

The Society for the Protection of Unborn Children and the Pro-Life Alliance are encouraging people to see it.

John Smeaton, SPUC director, said Bella was a “powerful and deeply moving story which affirms the intrinsic value and beauty of human life, born and unborn”.

The Pro-Life Alliance said: "The film has an underlying prolife message which we hope will reverberate with the wider public."
