Promise Keepers Announces Keynote Speaker for 2006 Conferences

|TOP|The international men’s ministry Promise Keepers has announced the theme for its 2006 PK conferences, along with the opening keynote speaker for this year.

With the theme "Unleashed - Releasing the Raw Power of Your Heart," Dr. Bob Reccord, president of the North American Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention, was chosen to be the main speaker at all 19 Promise Keepers events this year.

"Promise Keepers conferences ignite men," says Thomas S. Fortson, Ph.D., president and CEO of the 16-year old men's organization. "Bob Reccord is the right man to strike the match, pointing men to the power and passion of Jesus. Dr. Reccord's life message is a story of discovering one's calling, and making the most of the fantastic potential that God puts in each of us," continues Fortson.

"Every one of us wants to reach and fulfill the destiny for which we were created," says Reccord. "Every one of us wants to have our life count, so that when we're gone, we've made a difference. It's a privilege to share these important words with the men at Promise Keepers."

|AD|As head of the North American Mission Board, Reccord leads more than 5,200 missionaries across North America, and oversees the work of the third largest disaster relief force in the U.S.

Passionate about helping young leaders discover their divine calling and develop an 'on mission' lifestyle wherever they are, Reccord carries that message as he speaks across North America. Reccord addresses men and women of all ages as he challenges them to make their life count for both time and eternity.

Reccord is the author of several books, including Made to Count-Discovering What to do with Your Life and Beneath the Surface-Avoiding Hidden Dangers in your Voyage to Biblical Manhood. He hosts "Strength for Living," which airs daily on Sirius satellite radio and weekly on 250 stations throughout North America. Bob and his wife Cheryl co-teach a class in their home church, First Baptist Church of Woodstock, Georgia.

Other speakers and facilitators at PK conferences include Reggie Dabbs, Bishop Joseph Garlington, Erwin McManus, John Ortberg, Joe Stowell, Bishop Kenneth Ulmer, Stu Weber, and Joe White.
