The new patch for "Rainbow Six Siege" is here and it will serve as a sigh of relief for PlayStation 4 users who are experiencing a certain issue. Alongside the new update, the tactical shooter has also reached a feat in terms of player counts on Steam.

According to the game's official site, patch update 1.42 fixes a big issue for the PlayStation 4 wherein players matched into the wrong data centers. This is pretty much the only big update that 1.42 brings. The previous patch 1.41 brought in more fixes, improvements and new features to the game.

Update 1.41 introduced in new operators Vigil and Dokkaebi. These operators are already unlocked and accessible for Season Pass holders. Players can unlock the operators with Renown or R6 credits after the exclusive access period has ended.

Zofia Bosak was also brought into the mix, following her younger sister Elzbieta Bosak. Zofia is the second Specialist from the Polish counter-terrorism faction to head to "Rainbow Six Siege."

A new map called Mok Myeok Tower was also introduced. Two 707th SMB operators are to scale the tower to take the lead in a rescue mission that takes place in Seoul, South Korea. The map is a modern communications and observation tower. It gives a unique vertical vantage point as it overlooks the whole city; therefore, paving the way for a variety of multilevel tactics.

In honor of the game's second year, the developers also brought in a number of Weapon Skins for players. There are five season skins in total: Feral, Phoenix, Fearless, Husaria and Tiger Claw. These skins can be applied to the available weapons until the current season ends.

A few days after the release of patch 1.41, the game reached a milestone of 100,000 players on Steam. This is the highest "Rainbow Six Siege" has reached two years since it was first launched, as revealed by Steamcharts Data. Given how old the game is, it is an impressive milestone. As of now, "Rainbow Six Siege" has the fourth biggest audience on the gaming platform. Plus, more players are accessing it via Uplay.
