Ramona Singer of "The Real Housewives of New York" was married to Mario for 22 years before she filed for divorce in August 2014. Now, in a new interview with People magazine to promote her new memoir, "Life on the Ramona Coaster," the reality TV star opened up about what went wrong in their relationship.

The 58-year old told the magazine that her success as a celebrity bothered Mario.

"I think he felt that we were no longer a team," she said, adding that it was her success as a celebrity reality star and notoriety that really bothered him.

The mother-of-one is one of the original members of the Bravo franchise, having been featured as a series regular since January 2008.

"If someone said, 'Can I take a picture with Ramona?' or interrupted our conversation at dinner, he would get upset," she shared.

The reality star added that her husband could have said no during these instances, but he "continued to be passive." Singer said that Mario's affair was a symptom of his unhappiness.

Looking back, Singer said that she now can see the gradual change in her husband's behavior which eventually led to his affair. She said that it started with Mario slowly backing away from the spotlight and wasn't as involved as he once was in the show. The reality star said that when she started preparing their daughter, Avery, for college, Mario wasn't there for them and by the time he turned 60, she said she could barely recognize the man she married.

The Bravo star first filed for divorce papers back in January 2014 after she allegedly caught Mario cheating in the Hamptons. Shortly after, the couple reconciled, but Singer filed for divorce again that August.

Singer took to Twitter to announce their separation, writing, "I have decided to move on with my life without Mario. I tried my best to make my marriage work. I am excited for the new chapter in my life."

Singer's memoir, "Life on the Ramona Coaster," is due to be published on July 28.
