As Chelsea face all the troubles they are having this season, one of the club's most impressive players may be heading to a new destination as midfielder Eden Hazard has reportedly captured the interest of Real Madrid.
According to a report by the Daily Mail, Real already began the "groundwork" for the possible move which might take place next summer, but the club fears that the Blues will ask for a huge amount for the Belgian national.
The report added that Los Blancos are fearing Chelsea will look to give up Hazard for an amount much lucrative than the £85 million they spent on Gareth Bale in 2013.
Hazard is currently under contract with the struggling Blues for five years which will make Real spend a lot just to accomplish their desired move.
The Daily Mail also mentioned in their report that a source said Hazard knows the La Liga club is interested in him.
But the 24-year-old midfielder will be expressing his desire to head to Real once the club formalizes its interest in him.
Hazard and defending English Premier League (EPL) champions Chelsea are not having the best of seasons this year.
The Blues are currently 15th in the EPL table having a 3–2–6 record for 11 points, with their most recent setback a 3–1 defeat to Liverpool.
In other Real Madrid news, club star Cristiano Ronaldo is not closing his doors to a possible departure.
Ronaldo has been linked to a number of moves in the past few weeks and has also voiced out the uncertainty regarding his future.
"Right now, I play for Real Madrid, but you never know. You have to do whatever makes you happy. You never know what happens tomorrow. I can only say that I will always give it my all for my club and my country," Ronaldo said, according to a report by ESPN.
The 30-year-old footballer is under contract with Los Blancos after signing a five-year deal in 2013.
