The original "Red Dead Redemption" game was among the most critically acclaimed titles during the year it came out, and now, its sequel may soon be released as well.

During the quarterly earnings report for Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of "Red Dead Redemption" developer Rockstar Games, the company announced that there will be a new AAA title coming from them next year. Arguably the best part of the revelation is that the new AAA title will be coming from Rockstar Games.

There is reason to believe that the AAA title discussed during the quarterly earnings report in August is pertaining to none other than "Red Dead Redemption 2."

According to iDigital Times, Rockstar Games has followed a pattern of releasing at least one AAA title each year and also going by the order of first releasing a "Grand Theft Auto" title, releasing a "Red Dead Redemption" game after that and then ending with a "Max Payne" game before repeating the cycle again.

Given that "Grand Theft Auto V" was the most recent AAA title from Rockstar Games, fans should reportedly expect next year's headliner to be the sequel to 2010's "Red Dead Redemption."

There have also been new rumors supposedly revealing details about "Red Dead Redemption 2."

According to Bidness ETC, the upcoming sequel will be named "Red Dead Redemption 2: Legends of the West," and it will also be set 12 years before the events of the original game.

Fans may be disappointed that John Marston will reportedly not be back for the sequel, but in his place will be three new characters.

Two characters named Irish and Seth will supposedly be added to the game, and a third completely customizable character will also be introduced.

Rockstar Games has yet to announce anything official, however, although "Red Dead Redemption 2" appears to be closer to reality than before.
