'Red Dead Redemption 2' release date, gameplay details, news: Upcoming game to only have console version? PC gamers disappointed

Game developer Rockstar has finally announced "Red Dead Redemption 2" after years of speculations. The game also released an accompanying trailer and will be released in fall 2017 for video game consoles. PC users are now wondering if they will be left out again, similar to the original game.

The first game of the series never did arrive on the PC even if fans were clamoring for it. Once the information got out that the game sequel will only be released for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, PC-based fans immediately started an online petition to let the studio knows how they felt being left out.

The petition reads: "Because Red Dead Redemption is an amazing game and we PC players have been denied from playing it. Please don't do the same with Red Dead Redemption 2." So far, in less than 20 hours, the petition gained 12,500 supporters immediately. As of this writing, 41,328 gamers that want the upcoming game ported to the PC as well have signed the petition.

Michael Pachter, an analyst at Wedbush Securities, has an explanation for the action performed by Rockstar, and it is all about marketing. Pachter knows that these big companies are great marketing tacticians, and he believes that a PC version will also arrive. The studio will announce it eventually at the right time, he said during an interview with Gaming Bolt.

According to the analyst, "They key words here are right now. I remember the announcement for 'GTA5' was Xbox 360 and PS3 only when it was first announced in November 2011, I think. And then they waited until June of 2014, so literally two and a half years after the first announcement, and announced that it would be on Xbox One and PS4. And then- I forget the month, but I think it was several months later, they announced it for PC, which came out in 2015."

He also added, with the marketing style the company is performing, they keep the fans interest to their games on a high level. The company is also known to expand their games on every possible platform in order to maximize profit, and he assured PC users that they will have their share of the new game.

Meanwhile, game fans are also eager to know the reason behind the seven characters on the promotional art of "Red Dead Redemption 2." Since information is very scarce, nobody can explain it yet.
