'Red Dead Redemption 2' release date, gameplay news: To feature Battle Royale mode

While the much-awaited Western cowboy-themed game sequel "Red Dead Redemption 2" is expected to be out this year, Rockstar Games has announced that the title is delayed once again from its Spring 2018 target release date. Nevertheless, the game studio has provided new screenshots of the game to appease the fans. The photos are quite vague to give an idea on the new gameplay mechanics, although other sources show that "Red Dead Redemption 2" will introduce a Battle Royale mode for the first time.

Per Trusted Reviews, "Red Dead Redemption 2" could feature a bunch of new game modes and activities for the players to enjoy.

Aside from being an action-adventure title like the previous one, the game could also have a first-person and open world setting via Battle Royale mode. This information came from the leaked documents from Rockstar, which shows the planned gameplay features for the upcoming "Red Dead Redemption" sequel.

If ever, this will be the first time that the "Red Dead" players will experience a Battle Royale in the game. However, there are no supporting details in the documents to describe how the Battle Royale mode will play out. It is only assumed that this Battle Royale gameplay in "Red Dead Redemption 2" will be akin to some of PlayerUnknown studio's game titles such as "Battlegrounds" and "Fortnite."

Rockstar could also have an idea on its own about the Battle Royale, given that "GTA Online" also have the same gameplay mode involving vehicles, according to Metro.

The "Red Dead Redemption 2" document leaks also reveal other new game modes like Revive and Survive. In this gameplay mode, two teams will be pitted against each other as each team's players revive their own fallen comrades. There is also a special game mode called Money Grab, in which the players should gather as many gold bags as they can within a limited time in order to win the round.

"Red Dead Redemption 2" is expected to be released in PlayStation 4 and Xbox One this October.
