A lot of excitement was generated when Rockstar Games finally announced that they were in fact developing the highly awaited open world western action adventure video game, "Red Dead Redemption 2." While console players — who actually got to play the two previous games in the franchise — were ecstatic with the news, PC gamers were fearful that they would once again be deprived of the experience.

However, a new petition to include a PC port for the upcoming game is slowly gaining ground as it has now garnered thousands of signatures asking the game's developer to include a PC port for "Red Dead Redemption 2." Rockstar has already confirmed that the third installment in the "Red Dead" series was going to be released for the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One. The company, however, neglected to mention if they had any plans of releasing a PC version of the game.

The ongoing petition posted on change.org has now gained over 43,000 signatures from PC gamers asking the developers to consider their request of adding a PC port for their upcoming game. The petition itself outright requests Rockstar to provide PC gamers with the opportunity that they were deprived of with the past two installments.

"Because 'Red Dead Redemption' is an amazing game and we PC players have been denied from playing it. Please don't do the same with 'Red Dead Redemption 2,'" the petitions description reads.

Several reports have also speculated that it might be a good move for Rockstar to consider a PC port for their upcoming game. The company has thus far experienced some success with the PC version of their other games. The PC version of the company's previously released open world title "Grand Theft Auto 5" sold over 2 million copies on its first month alone. These figures can't easily be taken for granted by the company and further indicates that there is indeed a huge market for their games within the PC platform.

"Red Dead Redemption 2" was announced to be coming out for consoles sometime in late 2017.
