The first ever trailer for the upcoming "Resident Evil" spinoff from Capcom has just been released. Fans can now take a first peek at "Resident Evil: Revelations," thanks to a new trailer that will transport any gamer into an entirely new horror experience.

"Continuing the series legacy of delivering the essential survival horror experience, Resident Evil Revelations 2 promises all new horrors, terrifying locations and dramatic twists and turns," the video footage from Capcom reads.

The game focuses on two characters, Claire Redfield and Moira Burton, who have appeared in previous installments of the franchise. The story begins with Claire and Moira being abducted and trapped in an abandoned detention facility.

"Resident Evil: Revelations 2" has been slotted for an official release date in early 2015 as one of four downloadable episodes which will be made available every week for one month. Following these, Capcom is expected to launch the game's retailed version, specifically for the PS3, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC.

According to Push Start Play, Gamesmaster Magazine has revealed details about the upcoming game being "much more survival horror oriented."

"Resident Evil: Revelations 2" can be played in either single player or co-op mode with which Claire's death will indicate that the game is over. Moira's role will serve as the supportive assistant for Claire, equipped with a flashlight and herbs for healing purposes.

The "Afflicted," a new enemy characterized by speedy of movement and heavy damage, is also expected in the upcoming game. Players can choose to fight a fierce battle, sneak past the enemy, or run away.

"Resident Evil: Revelations 2" will be following the survival horror setup and environment of its predecessor, "Resident Evil: Revelations," which boasts a comprehensive gameplay on problem-solving and exploration.

"I want this to be both a game that doesn't lose what made its predecessor great, while also bringing something new and exciting to the Resident Evil series," producer Michiteru Okabe told Gamesmaster Magazine.
