After Jason's (Trevor Stines) killer was revealed in the show's penultimate episode, more questions have been raised than answered.

In "Riverdale" season 1 episode 12, it was discovered that Jason's own father, Clifford (Barclay Hope), was the one who shot him in the head while he was tied to a chair. Before justice can be served, the Blossom patriarch took his own life by hanging himself in their family's maple syrup storage room. However, what shocked the viewers even more were the packages of drugs that were scattered around, which appeared to have been stored in a barrel that was supposed to contain maple syrup. With Clifford's death and the possibility of the drugs being the Blossom family's secret business, how is Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch) going to deal with this?

As with what fans are going to expect in this week's episode, executive producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa revealed that the season 1 finale will come "full circle back to Sweetwater River," as reported on Entertainment Weekly. "There's a huge twist ending that sets up the second season," he said. "One of our main character's life hangs in the balance."

Who could this be? A lot is happening in the season finale trailer released by The CW, and it is unclear whose life is in the most danger right now. Serpents leader F.P. (Skeet Ulrich) is still in jail, Betty (Lili Reinhart) is once again battling her anger issues, and Archie (K.J. Apa) is singing on stage despite all the chaos that has been happening. But the most mind-boggling of them all is the final scene wherein Archie is punching something or someone on the ground, with Veronica (Camila Mendes), Jughead, and Betty as his extremely emotional audience.

Betty can also be heard saying "Something wicked this way comes." Is she referring to more secrets from the Blossom family? Or is this about the mysterious Hiram Lodge, Veronica's father, getting out of jail and coming to the town of Riverdale?

Another aspect to be focused on in the season finale concerns the two pairings — Archie and Veronica, and Betty and Jughead (Cole Sprouse). One couple will further deepen their relationship, while the other couple's fate will be left unclear. It has also been teased that fans will be seeing Jughead finally adopt a dog and name it Hot Dog, just like in the comics. According to ComicBook, fans have been asking for this since the second or third episode of the show.

"Riverdale" season 1 finale titled "The Sweet Hereafter" airs on Thursday, May 11, at 9 p.m. EDT on The CW.
