Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) president Dana White has stood up on behalf of deposed UFC champion Ronda Rousey and his latest qualm is that the Rowdy was feeling the effects of being tied up with multiple commitments as well as her personal issues.
For some, White's defense of Rousey has become a bit recurring. Many feel that it was obvious that at some point, she would succumb to her multiple commitments and all that showed against Holly Holm at UFC 193.
White claims that he already saw the loss forthcoming. Before UFC took place, Rousey had already admitted that she was feeling the effects of exhaustion, something stemming from her Hollywood commitments as well as her private life issues which were obviously not disclosed.
Rousey got a knockout loss for all that, a shocking and devastating episode that somehow brought her back to reality. Nevertheless, the loss is considered a setback for now and White believes that the former UFC Women's Bantamweight champion will eventually get up from this temporary debacle.
A Rousey vs. Holm rematch is already set for UFC 200, which will happen in July, something that should be interesting for both fighters.
Rousey wants to redeem herself while Holm wants to prove as well that her second round knockout (KO) win at UFC 193 was no fluke.
For now, Rousey will take some time off to fulfill her film commitments. She is also expected to use the time to regroup and hopefully come back with a bang, with the aim of hopefully reclaiming lost glory against the very same person who dealt her first UFC career loss.
It remains to be seen if Rousey can indeed rebound and reclaim her place in the UFC ranks. Seeing, however, how she dominated the division for quite some time, it may all be about focus and commitment, something that have evidently gone haywire.
