Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Amazon deal: Retailer offers handset for $1

Consumers can now get the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 for a dollar in Amazon given that you are willing to sign a two-year contract under Verizon Wireless.

This kind of deal has happened before wherein devices are offered for very low price, but will come with a catch of having to sign a commitment to a carrier. Samsung, which has come up with such promotions in the past,  is offering the deal itself.

This is a great deal considering that Verizon itself is offering the handset for $99.99 under the same condition that subscribers sign a two year contract.

When Samsung released the first Galaxy Note, many were skeptical that the device would be received well by the industry. But the company proved that there is a yearning for large screen and hybrid devices. Samsung Galaxy Note series is the king of the phablet market and its successors were equally successful.

Meanwhile, Samsung Galaxy Note 3 was launched in 2013 and boasts a 5.7 inch Super AMOLED screen display with full HD pixel resolution. The smartphone-tablet hybrid is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 800 SoC clocked at 2.3 GHz with Adreno 330 graphics co-processor and 3 GB of RAM.

Other features of the phablet are 32 GB internal storage with miroSD slot of up to 64 GB for additional storage, 13 MP back camera and 2 MP front facing shooter, S-Pen stylus, and 3,200 mAh battery capacity. The smartphone was released with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean out of the box, but is scheduled to receive the Android 5.0 Lollipop OS update.

Samsung just released the successors of Galaxy Note 3 – Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge. The phablets were announced in September and received major updates like quad HD screen display, Snapdragon 805 SoC, 16 MP camera and Android 4.4 Kitkat OS. The Galaxy Note 4 costs $299, while the Galaxy Note Edge costs $399.
