Samsung started to roll out the Android 5.0 Lollipop OS update to the new Galaxy Note 4 in Poland. It signals that the release of the firmware update will follow the tracks of the upgrade made to the Samsung Galaxy S5.

Galaxy Note 4 users in Poland are quite lucky to be first to receive the latest Android 5.0 update from the South Korean tech giant. This is attributed mainly to the research and development operations in the country. The update is reportedly delivered to users over-the-air, but will show up in KIES soon.

The 5.0 version brings the new Material Design of the OS topped with Samsung's improved TouchWiz user interface. The update delivers better overall performance, new lockscreen notifications, and battery life improvement.

While Samsung did not confirm the release of the operating system in most parts of the world, the software will surely head to other countries soon. It will not be long before it reaches most parts of Europe and Asia. The U.S. may be last on the list although this has not been confirmed by the company.

There is a big chance that Samsung will roll out the update slowly since the company has to work on a lot of countries and carriers. Moreover, the tech firm follows a progressive rollout wherein it updates devices in phases and garners more logs. It tweaks the update and rolls it out to the next batch of devices and repeats the same process. Thus, the roll out could take months before all variants of the handset get to receive the update.

On the other hand, there is no word from the tech company regarding the OS update for the Galaxy Note Edge, which shares similar specs and features with the Note 4. It seems that users of the curved display variant will have to wait longer.
