Samsung Galaxy Note 6 release date, specs and features: Note 5 successor to boast 6 GB of RAM?

Samsung might be putting out the first 6GB RAM-carrying smartphone. A Weibo user is claiming that the purported Samsung Galaxy Note 6 will be boasting such humongous amount of RAM, which is almost double that of what other flagships have.

If Samsung Galaxy Note successor is that insanely power-hefty, the South Korea-based company could be shooting for a go-to handset for users who wish to do heavy multitasking from a small handy device. Such RAM should promise no lags or slow-downs.

To some, 6GB RAM is a bit too extreme for a pocket-sized device like the Samsung Galaxy Note 6 but GSM Arena points out that Samsung has already been experimenting on this innovation since last year.

Samsung even started manufacturing 6GB RAM chips for handsets in September, which hinted that the future will see these chips finding their way into some of their devices and it looks like the 2016 phablet from the tech giant will be the first.

While 6GB RAM on the Samsung Galaxy Note 6 remains a bit of a stretch to many (Galaxy Note 5 has 4GB RAM), the Weibo user also provided more details about the device's specs sheet fit for it, which includes a 5.8-inch Quad HD display with RGB LED matrix panel.

This choice is a bit vague as this type of display does not last long, which is why the last time users saw them on a Samsung phone is on the Galaxy S2. The leakster also said that the screen of Samsung Galaxy Note 5's new brother will be made "too thin."

This could mean that Samsung is going bezel-less on the phablet or that Samsung is making room for an equally massive battery that will support the 6GB RAM of the device. The device will also purportedly feature a 12MP shooter with "Super IOS Plus."

As for the rest of the specs, the Samsung Galaxy Note 6 is expected to get 64GB or 128GB of storage. Taking its cue from the Samsung Galaxy S7, it is also said to have two variants with different processors – possibly a Qualcomm unit and Samsung's very own Exynos.

Samsung is currently preparing for the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S7 on Feb. 21. Hopefully, the company will shed some light on the Galaxy Note 6 there as well.
