At the height of the entire Samsung Galaxy Note 7 exploding battery debacle, fans were quite unsure about the future of the Note brand itself. Reports have even claimed that Samsung may just discard the entire Note brand altogether to get rid of the bad publicity that the brand has brought to their company. However, new leaks have now emerged which reveal that Samsung is still adamant on continuing the Note brand and that the next generation Note phablet, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8, will indeed be coming out.

Reports about the continuation of the brand initially started thanks to Samsung's own announcement of their recall programs in Korea. The program announcement which was published not too long ago explicitly mentions the new phablet smartphone. Consumers who bought the troubled handset were allowed to exchange the device for a new Galaxy S7, with the option to upgrade to a Note 8 when the device becomes available.

Now, the infamous leakster, Evan Blass, has posted a new tweet on his Twitter account which seemingly confirms previous reports of Samsung actually now developing the next generation Note smartphone.

The leak specified the various model numbers for Samsung's next generation products, with SM-G950 and SM-G955 referring to the company's upcoming Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus smartphones, respectively. At the end of the tweet, Blass revealed that Samsung is apparently also working on another model, the SM-950, which is the model number designation for the Note brand.

As for the upcoming device itself, rumor reports have revealed that the new Note 8 will likely be sporting some upgraded internals, including a possible Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor paired with 6 GB of RAM. The device is also rumored to sport a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a 1440 x 2560 2K pixel resolution. The device is also believed to be coming in with up to 256 GB of internal memory space and running the latest version of Android 7.0 Nougat.
