Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge set to get Note 8 UI with Android 8.0 Oreo update

The Samsung Galaxy S7 is rumored to receive the UI of latest Galaxy Note 8 phablet, following the arrival of Android 8.0 Oreo update. Samsung mobile

Aside from the Infinite Display feature of the Samsung Galaxy S8, S8+ and Galaxy Note 8, the feature that gave these top-end mobile devices their distinctive premium look is the Samsung Experience user interface (UI). For those users who are still using Samsung's 2017 flagship handsets, Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, it is possible that they will get the latest UI version as well as the Android 8.0 Oreo update that will begin to roll out in the coming months.

As reported by Sam Mobile, it is expected that the South Korean tech giant will be rolling out the Samsung Experience UI for the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge handsets, at the same time when the Android Oreo update arrives. To note, the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ first introduced the Samsung Experience 8.1 user interface. Although, with the launch of Galaxy Note 8 phablet last August, the UI version was then upgraded to Samsung Experience 8.5.

According to the reports, Samsung has already prepared the latest Samsung Experience UI for the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, but it was decided to release the UI version with the Android Oreo launch in the smartphones. For now, the only Samsung Galaxy devices apart from S8, S8+ and Note 8 that already received that Samsung Experience UI are the mid-range handsets, Galaxy J7, J7 (2016), and Galaxy A (2017) series.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge were launched in early 2017, running the Android 7.0 Nougat version. The user interface featured in these devices is the latest version of TouchWiz, also known as Grace UX.

The latest Samsung Experience UI sported by the Samsung Galaxy S8, S8+ and Note 8 is based on the actual appearance of Android 7.0 Nougat, although some aesthetic improvements were made from the OS version's user interface. The new UI includes new icon packs, typography, and other important contents to help the users, BGR reported.

For now, there is no exact date in which Samsung will release the Samsung Experience UI on S7 and S7 Edge. Likewise, there is still no news regarding the arrival of Android 8.0 Oreo update in specific smartphone models from Samsung. Although, for S7 and S7 Edge users, it is possible that the Oreo update will launch by the end of the year.
