The competition in the high-end smartphone market is getting stronger and stronger as with each passing year due to various technological advances that are being developed. It is no surprise, therefore, that smartphone enthusiasts are already hungry for more information about the Samsung Galaxy S8, despite the fact that its predecessor has not been out in the market for a full year.

The first question that tech junkies want answered is: When will the Samsung Galaxy S8 be released? Well, those who want to get their hands on this new smartphone will have to wait for at least nine months more based on Samsung's past time table on releasing new phones.

According to GalaxyS8Info.com, the South Korean tech giant is likely to release its new flagship phone in the second quarter of 2017.

Samsung has been silent about the Galaxy S8's official release date, but it has so far debuted all of its past high-end smartphones between March and June. The most recent one, the Galaxy S7, was released last March 11.

While details on the release date of the Samsung Galaxy S8 are quite scarce at the moment, some pieces of information about the possible specifications of the new smartphone have already been leaked.

According to ValueWalk.com, the Samsung Galaxy S8 could feature not just one, but two screens. It can be recalled the Samsung earlier filed a patent related to a new high-end smartphone with dual screens.

These two screens will reportedly be on either side of a built-in cover. The first screen, ValueWalk.com reported, will be a "functional unit" with sensors, input devices, antenna devices and charging pads. No additional information was given about the second screen.

Aside from these features, the Samsung Galaxy S8 will also reportedly have a pen, a projector and biometric, gesture, grip and ultraviolet sensors. The dual-screen phone may also follow the traditional hinge design to make it as light as possible.
