Samsung has a lot to make up for in terms of once again gaining the confidence of its consumers. However, the exploding battery issues of the previously released Samsung Galaxy Note 7 may become just a fading memory once the company launches its 2017 Samsung Galaxy S8 flagship.

Reports have revealed that it may be quite a revolutionary device that will elevate the company's reputation to where it once was.

According to the latest reports regarding the upcoming device, the brand new Samsung Galaxy S8 may be an entirely new upgrade from its predecessor and will apparently be sporting some new features that have never been seen before in a Galaxy smartphone.

Reports have revealed that Samsung may be launching the device in two separate models, both with edged screens. Samsung will reportedly be doing away with a flat-screened model and will instead be offering the new flagship in a 5.7-inch standard Galaxy S8 model and a whopping 6.2-inch Galaxy S8 Plus model.

While both phones will definitely be a jump up in screen size compared to their predecessors, the big surprise is that they will reportedly be coming in the same relative dimensions as the previous models. The larger screen size will apparently be the result of a near bezel-less screen with most of the display taking up the entire front side of the device. This means that all of the sensors, including the home button, could be embedded within or behind the display itself.

Apple is expected to do much of the same thing with their new iPhone next year as well.

Xiaomi also already released a proof of concept of the bezel-less phone with their limited edition Xiaomi Mi Mix.

As of the moment, it seems like smartphone design may be going in this direction, and it would certainly be interesting to see Samsung's take on the new design language.
