Samsung is said to be cooking up quite a smartphone in the Galaxy S8 which is already tipped to be the most powerful Android phone once it is released. The next flagship device from Samsung is looking to cover all bases and is touted to have significant improvements in both hardware and software, according to the latest reports making rounds online.
Starting from under the hood, the Samsung Galaxy S8 is said to sport the latest Qualcomm processor, the Snapdragon 835. The upcoming chip is set to be the most capable in its realm and is expected to take the Android world by storm with the ability to offer added computing power and even battery life.
But before it lands on other devices, Samsung will have first dibs on it given that the South Korean company is actually working with Qualcomm to manufacture its very first 10-nanometer chip. Its size which is said to be thinner than paper will be opening up so many possibilities in terms of the designs of devices. It not only allows for thinner gadgets but also extra room for bigger batteries for longer day-to-day use.
Samsung is also rumored to release two variants of the Galaxy S8. Apart from the base model, a bigger one which is rumored to be called Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus is very similar to the scheme that its American competitor Apple has been using. The original iteration is allegedly going to have a 5.7-inch display with its second incarnation sporting a 6.2-inch screen with edge-to-edge display
If any of these specs actually come to fruition, then a fierce battle between Samsung and Apple should be expected next year as the Cupertino-based company is also tipped to be cooking up something big for their iPhone series. The famous smartphone line is scheduled to celebrate its 10th anniversary and many tech geeks are already looking forward to what Apple will do to make its commemorative model one for the books.
