While Samsung has yet to come out with details for its next flagship, supposed specs and features have already surfaced for the Galaxy S8. Speculations suggest that Samsung will likely feature 6 GB of RAM for a top-tier version.

Supposedly, reports out of China say that the next-gen Samsung Galaxy S8 will come out with top-tier specs. One of the new improvements for its flagship will allegedly be a RAM upgrade. The Galaxy S8 is expected to come out with 6 GB of RAM.

Should this happen, this will be the first time that the South Korea-based company will be upgrading its RAM capacity for its flagships. Previously, rumors have mentioned that a 6-GB RAM variant will be featured for either the Galaxy S7 or the Galaxy Note 7. This was expected since most of Samsung's competitors have already come out with premium variants with 6 GB of RAM. However, contrary to rumors, the new flagships released featuring only 4 GB of RAM.

A Galaxy S8 with 6 GB of RAM is highly likely this time. Having 6 GB of RAM is already becoming a standard for premium flagship versions, particularly with China-based tech makers like Huawei and Xiaomi. Meanwhile, Samsung may have inadvertently given a hint on its latest release. One of its new launches, the Galaxy C9 Pro, features 6 GB of RAM.

Aside from a RAM upgrade, supposed specs and features for the Samsung Galaxy S8 include a 5.5-inch AMOLED display with QHD resolution; the newer Snapdragon 830 chipset, or an Exynos 8895 processor depending on the market; USB Type-C; and VR support for systems like Google Daydream VR and Samsung's own, overhauled Gear VR.

Meanwhile, it is expected that Samsung will debut the Galaxy S8 early next year. While the tech maker has yet to officially announce it, it is supposedly confirmed that the new flagship will launch on Feb. 26 and will be showcased at the 2017 Mobile World Congress.
