Looks like Olivia Pope's (Kerry Washington) love for President Fitz Grant III (Tony Goldwyn) will prompt her to resort to drastic measures to prevent the impeachment case from flourishing.

In the previous episode, Olivia managed to stop the impeachment proceedings when she conspired with an unexpected person to get her murderous father Rowan Pope (Joe Morton) out of prison to blackmail the senate judiciary committee that was working on the president's impeachment.

But in the upcoming episode of "Scandal" season 5 titled "Even the Devil Deserves a Second Chance," the implication of Olivia's hasty decision will be seen.

Based on the promo trailer for the episode, Olivia's best friend Abby Whelan (Darby Stanchfield) feels that something is not right with the way Olivia handled the situation.

"How'd you do it? How the hell did you get that information to end the impeachment," Abby demanded to know. But to protect her secret, Olivia just replied, "I don't want to lie to you. Don't make me."

Abby and Olivia's friendship is currently in a shaky situation, and this latest development could only make matters worse.

The synopsis for the episode reveals that Fitz could finally face the public once again after his problems with the impeachment finally ends. But his victory will be short-lived after his team uncovers several information saying his life will be in danger.

But perhaps the biggest discovery in the upcoming episode would be the person who helped Olivia in getting her father out of jail. According to several speculations, someone must have helped to execute her plans of letting Rowan go. But who could have wanted to see a mass-murderer roam the streets freely?

The official synopsis for the episode reads:

"While Fitz is focused on winning back the American people, he makes a shocking discovery. Meanwhile, OPA takes on a new client, but Olivia seems preoccupied keeping her own secrets, and Elizabeth North sets her sights on a new agenda."

'Scandal' season 5 episode 7 airs Thursday, Nov. 5, on ABC.
