The Seattle Seahawks, led by franchise quarterback Russell Wilson, are back in the playoffs for the fourth consecutive season after they defeated the Cleveland Browns at home last Sunday, 30–13.
It was a tough 2015 season for the Seahawks, who started with a 2–4 record, before winning seven of their last eight games which include an active five-game winning streak.
In the victory over the Browns, Wilson finished the game completing 21-of-30 passes for 249 yards and three touchdowns, being sacked twice.
Wilson did not throw an interception in the game, which was the fifth consecutive game in which he did not record a single interception.
Along with not throwing an interception in their past five games, the 27-year-old quarterback also completed 19 touchdown passes and is 74.3 percent successful with his pass attempts.
Wilson thriving late this season is great for the Seahawks as it gives them momentum heading to the playoffs.
In 14 regular season games played, Wilson already tied his completion tally from last season with 285, for career-bests 3,538 yards and 29 touchdowns, only throwing seven interceptions.
The Seahawks are now 9–5 and are second in the National Football Conference (NFC) West, just behind the division-leading Arizona Cardinals who are at 12–2.
Seattle made it to the playoffs because along with its win over Cleveland, the New York Giants fell to the unbeaten Carolina Panthers.
But there is more good news for the Seahawks, as ESPN mentioned in its report that star running back Marshawn Lynch might be returning soon from injury, although there is a possibility that the current lineup is the same one that will compete in the postseason.
Two weeks still remain in the 2015 National Football League (NFL) regular season and the Seahawks will take on the St. Louis Rams this Sunday for Week 16 action. After that, they will face the leaders of their division, the Cardinals, on Jan. 3, 2016 for their Week 17 matchup.
