The Seattle Seahawks made it to the Super Bowl in the past two seasons, but this year might be different as they absorbed their fourth loss in six games against the Carolina Panthers last Sunday.

Seattle was ahead by nine in the fourth quarter of its game against the Panthers but had a defensive collapse which led to its second consecutive defeat.

The Seahawks started the 2015 season with back-to-back losses to the St. Louis Rams and the Green Bay Packers.

But the 2013 Super Bowl champions then bounced back winning their next two games against the Chicago Bears and Detroit Lions, with strong safety Kam Chancellor returning from his holdout due to contract issues.

Although the return of Chancellor was unable to help the Seahawks sustain the momentum as they drop their next two games against the undefeated squads Cincinnati Bengals and Panthers.

In their last two games, the Seahawks had the advantage in the fourth quarter and had the chance to win but were unable to hold on to the lead with their defense having lapses which led to the losses.

The struggle is real for the Seahawks since their defense has been one of the strongest facets of their game, even garnering the moniker "Legion of Boom" since 2011.

Seattle's defense was crucial in their win over the Denver Broncos at Super Bowl XLVIII and their return to the championship stage last season at Super Bowl XLIX, which they lost to the New England Patriots.

Despite the recent setbacks, Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll is still optimistic about their 2015 campaign but believes they should not be in the 2–4 hole to start the season.

"Our expectations are that we should be winning all of these games. We should be 6-0 and we should be rolling right now," Carroll said, according to the Seattle Times.

Although he added, "This season is not done at all. It's just been very, very challenging."

The Seahawks will have the chance to mount a solid run to increase their playoff chances when they play the San Francisco 49ers this Thursday for Week 7 action.
