Selena Gomez and beau The Weeknd have been public about their relationship amid rumors linking the former to her ex-boyfriend, Justin Bieber. It appears like the couple is ready to step to another level in their relationship, as a recent report claims that the Canadian singer is planning for a marriage proposal.

Gomez and her beau, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, have started dating in January, and since then, they have made their relationship public by sharing their photos on social media. Despite this, they have both been quiet about the details of their relationship.

Recently, Hollywood Life reported that the Canadian crooner is ready to ask his lover's hand and is planning a proposal that Gomez will surely never forget. The source of the outlet exclusively revealed, "Abel doesn't want to rush things. He wants to plan a proposal that's going to blow Selena's mind. The past few months have been kind of stressful with Selena's [kidney transplant] operation and all."

The informant further added, "But now that the worst is over, and she's well on the road to a full recovery, Abel can focus on finishing off the last leg of his tour, and then concentrate on the how, when and where to propose." The Weeknd reportedly knows that what he has with Gomez is special and on a different level.

After his first date with Gomez, Tesfaye allegedly told his best pal Lamar Taylor that he was going to marry the singer. If ever the report holds true, he still has a couple of months on the road until the proposal.

Nevertheless, Gossip Cop checked in with a reliable source close to the couple to find out whether the claim was correct. The insider debunked the report about Tesfaye's marriage proposal plan that will blow Gomez's mind and revealed that it was all "made-up."

While Gomez and The Weeknd may likely exchange vows in the future, the story is nothing but completely fabricated news. The couple has yet to comment on the issues, so readers are advised to take the rumors with a grain of salt.
