Fans will not see a reunited Ian (Cameron Monaghan) and Mickey (Noel Fisher) when Showtime's dark comedy series "Shameless" returns for season 6.
According to the MNR Daily, there will be no reconciliation between the couple who broke up last season. Apparently, the actor Fisher will be too busy pursuing a film career and may not be available to play his homophobic character. However, this may be good news on Ian's end, as he can spend more time finding himself.
Meanwhile, Fiona's (Emmy Rossum) love life may take a colorful turn when her boss, sexy and debonair Sean (Dermot Mulroney), returns for season 6. Will the eldest Gallagher child finally becomes mature enough to handle a serious relationship? Fans certainly hope so.
As for Sammi (Emily Bergl), E! Online reports that her mother, Queen, will be paying her a visit. "Flouncy, flamboyant and sexy," Frank's (William H. Macy) ex-wife is a cannabis farmer, which means she has a field of weed growing somewhere in her backyard.
The website posits that Queen's arrival may mean hilarious exchanges with the "money-hungry, drug-loving" Frank, as he is known for leaching onto those who can help his vices. It will also be interesting to know how Sammi will interact with her mother whom she has not seen for a long time.
The International Business Times reveals that "Shameless" season 6 will feature a time jump; hence, fans will see the Gallaghers return several months after the last crazy finale. According to the synopsis released by Showtime, the country's favorite Irish family will be experiencing a lot of changes among its disjointed members.
"Change is hard and the Gallaghers are as surprised as anyone at how life is turning out for them. But as they come into their won and find out who they are, the question remains — is it really possible that the Gallaghers could grow apart for good?
"Shameless" season 6 will reportedly return on Jan. 17, 2016.
