Small-screened smartphones: Options for those who prefer to use phones with just one hand

 Reuters

Many consumers still prefer operating their smartphones with just one hand, and the bigger the screen, the more it becomes difficult to handle it. This is also the reason why smartphone manufacturers still make phones with small screens, at 5 inches or less. Here are some of them.

1. Apple iPhone SE

Apple's iPhone SE houses a 4-inch screen, which is very compact but does not compromise performance. It is as powerful as the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, having the same processor, which is the A9 chip. There are two options for the internal memory, 16GB and 64GB. It has a 12MP iSight main camera that produces great quality images and records 4K videos. However, the front camera is not that much, a 1.2MP sensor, but good enough for FaceTime video chat.

The IPhone SE price starts at US$399.

2. Microsoft Lumia 550

For those longing for a Windows phone in a compact configuration, the Microsoft Lumia 550 is available for US$139.

3. BLU Win HD Lte

Another option for a Windows 8.1 phone is the BLU Win HD LTE that offers a 5-inch screen. It is currently being offered on Amazon for US$125. It is powered by the Snapdragon 410 processor with 1GB RAM and 8GB internal memory, which is expandable up to 32GB via a microSD slot.

It comes unlocked, with dual-SIM capability, an 8MP main camera and a 2MP front-facing one.

4. Sony Xperia Z5 Compact

5. Acer Liquid Zest
