Sony Experia Z1 mini price, specs, release date 2013: Photos of Honami Mini leaked, more color options

Some more details have been leaked to the web about Sony's latest project in the pipeline, the Xperia Z1 f - or Z1 Honami mini.

The Z1 f is basically a slimmed down version of the Xperia Z1, measuring 172mm x 64.9mm instead of the full-sized 144mm x 74mm.  The trade off in this downsize is that it is a little thicker at 9.4mm rather than 8.5mm.

However, the indications from the latest image leaked to the web is that this smaller version of the Z1 will pack a pretty similar punch to its big brother.

XperiaBlog posted the image of a brochure from Japanese carrier NTT Docomo revealing a colour range of black, white, pink and lime green, and details of a 4.3-inch screen, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage.

The spec sheet further revealed a 2300mAh battery, a slight downgrade from the Z1's 3000mAh.

The device is also rumored to come with a 1280x720 display, a 20.7-megapixel rear camera and 2.2 megapixel unit on the front, and a Snapdragon 800 CPU processor.

With the leak featuring the specs for the Japanese version, the question now is whether we can expect this device to launch in other markets outside Japan.

The Z1 was unveiled at the IFA event earlier this month but it comes as no surprise that Sony is working on a cheaper variation as the other big smartphone players have headed down this route.

ExpertReviews.co.uk predicts that although the phone will be significantly lower than the Z1, it won't be cheap enough to be classed as a budget handset.

The website also reports that an unnamed source told the Chinese Digi-Wo website that Sony was looking to unveil the Xperia Z1 mini at the Consumer Electronics Show early next year.
