Sony does not seem to want to come late for the flagship leak party, as new computer-aided design (CAD) renders of the Xperia XA2 and Xperia XA2 Ultra have been leaked to the public online.
A pair of leaked images obtained by the Xperia Blog website has revealed devices which carry the moniker "H4233" model, an alleged factory name for the Xperia A2 Ultra from Sony. The leaked CAD renders show that the flagship successor closely follows the form factor of its predecessor.
The smaller Xperia A2 will be utilizing a conservative 5-inch display with dimensions of 141.6 x 70.4 x 9.6 mm, while its bigger phablet brother will boast a 6-inch display and will measure in at 162.5 x 80 x 9.5 mm. The CAD renders were supposedly from Tiger Mobiles, where a generous 360-degree angle view of both phones was also revealed, as well as the front and back of both phones.
A video is also available showing the two flagship phones from Sony, though viewers should keep in mind that these are just CAD renders and not the actual thing. It also remains to be seen whether both flagships can replicate the success of the Xperia A1 models since that apparently is a tall order to fill given the features for the price tag of said phones.
Rumors say that both phones may also be only using the 16:9 aspect ratio, meaning those expecting the new 18:9 top bezel-free design might be in for a disappointment. This remains to be seen though.
What is certain is the processing power of the Xperia A2 Ultra, which will come from Snapdragon 830 octa-core chip, clocking in at around 2.2 gigahertz (GHz). This is expected to be paired with 4 gigabytes (GB) of random access memory (RAM) and 64 GB of available system storage, with micro Secure Digital (mSD) expansion slots to boot. Both phones will also likely feature the latest Android 8.0 Oreo version, as is the standard now for 2018.
The official release of both flagship phones has not been announced yet, but it is expected to be sometime during 2018, with more leaks and reveals from Sony as the time passes.
