The Sony Xperia lineup has continuously provided its fans with the right amount of features to keep them waiting for the next Xperia phone to come out in the market. But ever since the release of the Z5, no word has spread about the next device in line, which is the Xperia Z6. However, speculations suggest that the Xperia Z6 has already come to the market but under a new name, the Xperia XZ.

Ever since the absence of the Z6 at the Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin (IFA) 2016 in Berlin, Germany, many have speculated that the Sony flagship phone might be up for cancellation. However, according to certain rumors, that is not the case for tech giant Sony may have just rebranded the Z6 as the recently released Xperia XZ.

If so, the Xperia Z6 — or now known as the XZ — packs a lot of interesting features that goes well against other flagship phones from Apple and Samsung.

The new Xperia XZ boasts a 5.2-inch triluminos display capable of rendering extremely bright and vibrant graphics through dynamic contrast enhancement. The device's display makes it perfect for viewing high-quality photos produced by its 13 MP front camera and 23MP Sony IMX300 rear camera that is equipped with video enhancing features such as Laser Auto Focus, SteadyShot, and 5-axis optical image stabilization. What's more is that the Sony Xperia XZ's camera is capable of shooting high-resolution 4K videos.

Furthermore, the new Xperia XZ sports a round-edged glass exterior supported by a Polycarbonate and Aluminum Alloy frame. It is also worth noting that the device's body is IP68 certified, which gives it the capability to be completely submerged in water up to 30 minutes.

As for the XZ's innards, the phone is equipped with a powerful Snapdragon 820 chipset, Quad-core Kryo processor, and Adreno 530 GPU along with 3 GB of RAM. Users are also provided with a large storage capacity of 32 GB that can be expanded up to 200 GB with a microSD.

The XZ also provides its users with a longer lasting 2,900 mAh battery. The new battery is equipped with a new feature that makes the device learn about the user's charging habits, allowing the battery to regulate the release of energy when the phone is charging or in use.

The Xperia XZ will be released in the following color:s Mineral Black, Platinum, Forest Blue, and Deep Pink.
