"Star Citizen" — the upcoming space simulation video game for Microsoft Windows and Linux — is about to have its internal development schedule released to the public, and fans are getting hyped over the information that "Star Citizen" developer Chris Roberts is about to announce.

"Star Citizen" is a multiplayer game that will take players to galactic lengths. The title was initially announced as a crowdfunding project by game developer Chris Roberts.

It has been 4 years since "Star Citizen" started its crowdfunding journey, and ever since then, the game has garnered approximately $100 million USD in funding for the title's development.

Because of the game's success in crowdfunding, the game creator decided to make "Star Citizen's" development schedule completely transparent for the public to view. However, there is still no completion date set for "Star Citizens" as of today.

"We have taken a lot of flak over the last couple of years for the extending timeline of Star Citizen, but the simple fact is that game development, especially game development on the scale of Star Citizen, is complicated," said Roberts.

"With Star Citizen, we never had the luxury of developing behind closed doors until all the technology has been built. We've been public since before we opened the doors of our first office in early 2013," he added.

Fans of "Star Citizen" will soon be able to access the weekly development schedule for "Star Citizen" Alpha 2.6 on Roberts' blog. The schedule will indicate the development for several features of the game including the Mega Map stretch goal, the Star Marine and Arena Commander modules, content and UI teams, and technology and systems.

As of now, there are still no details as to when "Star Citizen" will be released, and gamers and fans will just have to stay tuned to Roberts' schedule update to find out more.
