The end of 2017 has huge offerings in store for all "Star Wars" fans. Aside from the "Episode VIII: The Last Jedi," which will hit theaters on Dec. 15, EA is set to release the video game sequel "Star Wars: Battlefront II" this November. The release dates of the film and the game are not so far from each other, and as expected, EA confirmed that "Battlefront II" will include free content based on the upcoming movie.

As reported by Engadget, the first batch of free content for "Star Wars: Battlefront II" will include new characters, locations, spaceships, and storylines that fans will witness on "The Last Jedi." To recall, the same situation happened in December last year with the first "Battlefront" video game, which received content packs that were related to spin-off film "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story."

EA has laid out their schedule in rolling out "The Last Jedi" content in the coming weeks. The first set of content will be released within a four-week period, starting on Dec. 5 when players will be asked to choose their faction. Just like in the upcoming film, players can pick between the Resistance and the ominous First Order, each side providing unique challenges for its members. On Dec. 13, another content pack for "Star Wars: Battlefront II" will be out, featuring the characters of Finn, the former startrooper who joined the Resistance, and Captain Phasma, who once became Finn's commander in the First Order.

Every week, the First Order and Resistance factions will have to compete for the highest points in order to unlock high-powered upgrades for their respective heroes. Meanwhile, new multiplayer locations based on "The Last Jedi" will be available in "Battlefront II" this December, which include the Crait ground battle map and the Starfighter Assault map, D'qar.

Also on Dec. 13, a new story campaign will be introduced in "Star Wars: Battlefront II," featuring Commander Iden Versio stopping the rise of the First Order. Interestingly, fans are likely to know the story behind the creation of the First Order, which may also be explained in theaters with "The Last Jedi."

"Star Wars: Battlefront II" will be released on Nov. 17, while those who purchased the game's Deluxe Edition can begin playing as early as Nov. 14.
