An open-world platform is currently all the rage in the gaming community. This is a concept that developer Undead Labs took into consideration in creating the sequel "State of Decay 2." From the looks of it, it appears they are taking it to a whole new level.

"State of Decay 2" is a survival-fantasy game set during the zombie apocalypse. The remaining survivors must work together to build a community amidst the dreadful reality that wreaks havoc almost anywhere. The game takes on a third-person view while the character navigates through the environment.

Basing from the description on its official website, "State of Decay 2" will truly be an open-world role-playing game. As early as the start of the game, players get to use their imagination into making their character based on personality, traits, and ideals. They then embark in a world that remembers the choices they make and adjusts to it, making linearity absent in the zombie-themed game.

Players may choose to play individually, or they can also work in groups of four for a cooperative multi-player game, which was teased in the E3 trailer with the phrase, "no one can survive alone." Working together would mean sharing the profits of missions they partake in as a team. Each of the players will have their own stories to tell, thus one's plotline is entirely different from another.

Ultimately, the goal is to create a community that will be a safe haven for survivors of the plague. Whether a player decides to take things in stride alone or make hasty yet calculated decisions with other players is entirely up to them.

The infinite possibilities of "State of Decay 2" got fans speculating about what could potentially be in the upcoming game. Mobipicker enumerated some of the features they wish would be added to the gameplay, from bandits who can either be friend or foe, to vehicle customization and character creation. Anything is possible at this point.

"State of Decay 2" is coming to PC and Xbox One platforms in 2017. Discussions are still underway regarding Steam support.
